I regret getting distant
regret all the hurt
regret all the darkness
caring covered with dirt
Regret losing track of what's dearest to me
Hate the path that we've travelled, eyes wide open, couldn't see
Regretting the distance, the damage was done
Missing the times when life was more fun
Regretting the pressures I put on my life
As I sit here and take from my back someone's knife
Pushed to the edge of the darkened abyss
Took the embrace of depression, felt it's warm and deadly kiss
I'm a father, and a husband and a worker, and just me
Hard to balance all the roles, no one here that's guiding me
Those I've hurt and pushed away, I am sorry for the pain
And the hurt that I have passed to you, that may always remain.
