I thought that I could keep her safe
from the person I used to be
from the deaths I caused
and the life's I consumed
away from the pain
away from the hurt
away from the murder
I swore I was different
I swore that I had changed
I said I wouldn't do it again
I said I wouldn't kill
Not again, not for the blood
not for anything...
but I couldn't stop myself
not from the craving I had
not for the blood I needed
and I took it from one
than many, then more
until finally I did the dreaded,
I took it from her.
