Christmas is A time of year Where families get together And spread holiday cheer
Why then, Do so many worry, About cookies and Santa, But get lost in the hurry?
So many rush, Push each other in stores, Run to buy presents, Before the closing doors
For some, Christmas is no time to rest, Instead they compete To see whos cooking is the best
Christmas was meant To celebrate the birth of a King Instead of listening To a sled bell ring
This child was born From a virgins womb Sent to death unfairly And was placed in a tomb
The Savior lived and died For you and me He was resurrected So that we could all be free
He washed away our sins, Showed incredible grace For in this time of year, We can see our Deliverers face
So during this Christmas season, Let us all remember, A little boy King, Who lives forever

A wonderfully written poem about the truths of christmas. So much truth behind ur words. The cooking , the competing , the gifts and decorations. Lets not forget what Xmas is really about. A very well written piece of poetry. Well done.
*hugs*

great poem...while i'm not religious at all i too have seen the meaning of christmas become greatly ignored by consumers worldwide and it has become a very materialistic holiday. it's sad...i love buying and wrapping and giving and decorating but it would all mean nothing without family and friends. so thanks for your poem and for reminding people of the true meaning. |
