Someone

Topic: SadPoetry

If only I had a fascinating backstory
Or a breathtaking chance at glory
Not my own lonely, boring history
I wish I was like a movie hero.
If only I had a unique tale to tell
Or a most helpful invention to sell
Not holding my own self-made hell
I wish I was not inevitably Nero.
If only I had saved someone's life
Or brought together man and wife
Not barely feeling like I am alive
I wish I was someone else.
If only I could write grand things
Or soar like a bird on the wing
Not always falling, never hitting
I wish I could help myself.
If only I was master of some skill
Or undisputed king of the hill
Not this loser who lacks will
I wish I would get up and run.
If only I was so damn irresistable
Or I would even settle for lovable
Not discouragingly inscrutable
I wish to God I was someone.

Nice write. Just always remember: To God you are someone, everyone on earth may not have as many talents and assets but sure everyone is unique with some good in them. Thanx :)

Oh very well said Anneliesse. Everyone is unique in their own way and even the most talented person can feel like they have wasted away to nothing if he or she does not pursue their passion. All you need to do is find yours and you will soar. You do write grand things, every thing that anyone writes down on paper or submits on this site is a masterpiece to that person. If someone does not like it, it's no big deal because they are your words and they come from your heart. How could that not be a masterpiece? Poetry is powerful, it can and has saved many lives. And just to be able to write it is a gift. Anyway, I could go on but I have rambled enough on here just take care of yourself. I like your poem
