Existing Rythem

Contributed by eleventoedsloth on Sunday, 27th November 2005 @ 06:49:52 PM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

I thought to myself,
of all the horrid things he said
and how foolish I had been.
The scribbles on almost-finished tests
got swifter and more loud as time neared.
"Pay attention to the small things as you write,
as there's rythem in all of life."
I could see his lips still,
forming the words,
and I remembered the rythem in that.
He was lyrical, and knowlegable,
as he gave his advice.
Hell, he was lyrical and knowlegable
as he screamed my name across the courtyard
followed by a "***** you".
"Boys are foul," I mumbled
as I pushed the scene from my mind, and attempted work ethic once more.
I turned my head towards the window,
and saw a face in the patterns of dew played out over the glass.
"There's rythem in YOUR existance" it wispered,
for my ears only,
and with that my thoughts eased.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
