Topic: oops

Here we are once again at this old familiar crossroad,
Neither of us knowing what to say so we just let it go,
We've been here how many times now?
We profess what is it is we claim to want but just let it roll on bye,
Making the same silly promises time after time, this time we're going to do it right, it's at least worth another try,
Silly words spoken in the heat of the moment, wishing we could prove them but both of us lacking the know how,

You're still the one who claims to want me,
I'm still the one that hangs on your every promise wishing with all my might this time it really will be,
You're still the one who sneaks off in the night,
I'm still the one who refuses to cry,
You're still the one who's torn between the two of us; myself and yes her,
I'm still the one willing to make it work,

It's the same old pattern,
Still the same ole game,
Same players, just a few of the rules have changed,
For instance I'm no longer capable of giving you what you've yet to earn,
My heart's not on the line anymore,
It's not ok that you want me, but you still want her,

Those sweet lips that spoke only broken promises are no longer of my desire,
Those hands,
The hands that caress her, I can no longer stand,
Those eyes, beautiful blues eyes of which gazing into I could never tire,
They tell your little secrets, you know you never were a good liar,
Your kiss so sweet and supple used to set me aflame, now scorches me as though hell's fire,

So here we are once again at this old crossroad,
Just like many of other day,
Only this time I've changed, I know what to say,
It's time that you go

I don't know, I guess some could say, everything changes, and you're assumed to build on those changes. But I'm not so sure, is it possible for something to stay the same forever? And what if the change is bad, do you want it - would you accept it? I don't think everything changes. I think it's possible for some people to prevent it. Like in your poem, it's possible to stop a relationship from changing, you can work to make it good, or you can work to make it worse. It's really the couples choice, unless they're fighting against eachother and one wants it - while the other doesn't. If a pair seems to have probelms, it's usually repairable, but what has to be taken into account, is whats expected. It takes time, and patience. I guess change can be a wonderful thing, but just the same it can destroy something that was once already wonderful. Nice write. Definitely relatable.
