it was good
while it lasted,
im not even sure
what to call
this thing we had,
is it a relationship
or what?
you, coming to me
when you need
a shoulder
to cry on.
i, being ignored
& avoided
when you're
with them.
you,seeking me
when you want
loving arms to
hold you tight.
i, crying, knowing
you're with your
wife & kids
at night.
what did we gain
in this little
charade of ours?
a lasting memory
of the short time
we shared together.
a gift born
out of passion
& stolen kisses.
that i will
forever hold
close to my heart.
