A Dream

The sun was shining, the birds singing,
the grass danced with the beautiful flowers.
The children were running, laughing, the dogs were barking , wagging their tails at people.
And we were just sitting under the tree, enjoying the time we had together.
Oh, I would like to be your shadow so I can be with you everyday,
or be in your shoes, following you everywhere.
Step by step, day by day, loving you more and more.

Oh, I would willing to spend my whole life with you.
Your smile, so peaceful and adorable.
Your lips, so warm and sweet.
Your eyes, so bright and beautiful.
You touched my face softly, said that I had a pretty face.
You held my hands tight, said that you will never let me go.

I can still remember, everything is just like yesterday.
I remember what happened that day because I don't want to forget, the happiest day in my life.
I also remember what happened last night because I could not forget it either, the worst day in my life.

I could not believe what I saw.
You said you love me, how could you kiss him in front of me.
I can't believe what you said.
You said you never want me to go, how dare you leave me alone in the rain.
An empty street, walking alone in the rain, rain washing away my tears, the wind blowing at my mind.
But the rain tired of washing my tears, and the wind could not blow away my sadness.

I can still clearly remember,
remember what he looked like,
remember how happy you were when he hugged you,
remember how he laughed at me like a fool,
and remember how I walked toward to my death.
Last night, I knew how much you loved him. Tonight, you knew how much I loved you.

Yeah, last night remember?
I know you can never forget, you saw everything. Everything happened last night.
You saw me standing in the street waiting for you . You saw that car coming.
You also saw the darkness drinking my blood, with the cold and lonely rain.

Lying on the bed, my eyes are closed . Holding my hands but they are cold.
Saying you love me, saying you are sorry, but I can not respond.
If you would, if you are willing to say earlier,
maybe I would not have stepped out and hit by that car.

I wish you can see me standing next to you . I wish you can hear me calling your name.
I wish I can go back to tell you how much I love you, more than anyone else.
Or at the very least, let me say good bye to you.
But reality will never be change . Time will never pass again.
I think I should just leave now in peace.

I jump up from the bed in tears , Thanks God it was only a dream.
Calling you because I miss you and wanting to hear your voice,
but someone else picked up, I will never forget , that voice, that laugh.
It is raining tonight and I am walking to your place.

Danny Florio
