Water
My phobia, my fear
The crashing waves, the darkness below
The creatures that lurk in the shadows down low
The depths of the waves seem so calm and so passive
But the power it holds is unbelievably massive
It attacks when you are at your most vulnerable state
And tricks you into thinking that you can escape
You can try your hardest and put up a fight
But the depths of the darkness will hold on to you tight
Once you are under it is too late
For the water will have taken over your life and your fate
So many people have been consumed this way
For the water can do whatever it may
A murderous b**tard that kills when it can
Merciless to everything, but particularly man

Very good write!
I fear water too but not to this extent.
I figure I must have drown in a previous life or something. I will swim under water in a pool sometimes but I never go to the deep end.
Great way to get the feelings out.

Oh Fiona..I'm sorry you have this fear of the water..and I can't say I blame you.... I love the water..and I might be silly, but when I'm in a boat, the rougher the water is, the more I love it... I used to think I'd find my death at sea..but now...I MORE AFRAID OF THE ROAD...and being in a car... Loved this write, tho

I used to be afraid of deep water as well. I wouldn't swim or go into the water. I conquered this fear last summer it was hard, but I did it! In time u can conquer this fear as well. Good luck

Fiona, the Polynesian Islanders think the water joins the land together, gives them an easy way to travel and provides them with food.
But like everything else in this world, the mountains, the air and the sea.. they are not dangerous. It is only us that are dangerous when we do not treat them with respect.
You are right to be afraid of your disability with water, it is not unatural we all have it in some degree it's part of our instincs. I don't suppose Dolphins like land much.
Why let it bother you?
