Sit high upon your hill, In your castle of solitude. Contemplating life, Behind bland walls of fortitude. An endless array of distractions, To keep your mind ever busy, Think not of your guilt, For then it all becomes easy. You set fiery archers atop, To shoot flaming darts of deceit, Burning all forest around, And so your memories retreat. Then you fill up your moat, With your tears of remorse, To not let the soldiers in; The soldiers of discourse. For you know they are right; You dont belong way up there, But to give in to them, Is to give up your lair. And to do so, youd let down, Your giant drawbridge of pride, But it is locked into place, Hiding all thats inside.

An excellent use of metaphor to refer to someone who doesn't allow themselves to love. I enjoyed it, ty...Summer |

excellent rhyme scheme, its hard to pull off short line schemes like this, but you succeeded, even if discourse is a bit of a stretch to the ear.
nicely done |
