I remember five years ago
as I stealthily started to grow
had no ears and no eyes
I was
a ragged doll by the window
another day, another hour
I sat and waited for someone
who'd love me long and love me strong
for and as the years unfold
Ears and eyes now they naturally grow
and I'm able to see and hear
Pain it's added like salt and sugar
for now I'm able to cry and waver
it's invisible, though
but if you peer through softly
you might be able to see
the lurking shadows behind my eyes
amd you will see the truth of what I feel
and know that
I love you
