Way Up on a Cloud

Here I see myself, Way up high on a cloud, To look down and see, Both castle and crowd. The castle holds love, And the crowd only hate, To drift aimlessly above, Forever is my fate. I could jump down, Into the castle below, But my fall into love, Would be one final blow. Banished to the sky, By someone who cared, Cared once about me, Then irrationally scared. So you must ask then, "Who would do this?" Such a hideous thing. Because only tears, And death does it bring. But I would tell you then, That one such as this, Is a friend of the crowd, And a friend of the kiss. The crowd offers rescue, From the exile above, But to give up my post, I'd lose sight of my love. For back down on the ground, Id be forever kept out, From the castle that swooned me, And erased all my doubt. Doubt that life wasnt fair, Or that reality not pleasant, Forever I live now, Here in the present.
