The Ice Breaker

Contributed by mccscratch on Tuesday, 20th December 2005 @ 09:06:21 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

when her touch became blind and cold,
and her clutch became careless and loose
when the conversations had run dry
and her gestures became so obtuse

when her hidden habit appeared clearly
and her car was never home
when there was no money for her rent
and she never answered her phone.

when her gaze was blank and lifeless
and the thoughts of you weren't there.
and she was always "on her way out"
just when you really started to care

she says she realizes "we rushed In
to renaming ours from mine"
and she knew she wanted a break,
"theres no more tingle in my spine"

as she spoke from far across the room,
with her blood racing from a bump of meth
she told you "its not enough"
yards away you still felt her icy breath

with her face seeming so pale and bleak
and all her things packed up in the hall,
standing there she told you bluntly
"we never truly loved each other at all"

incredible write and you brought this to life.
This is haunting to me as I know this scene well they turn into someone you dont know
a hollow walking shell.
If this was written about your experience Im sorry that you had to go through it its no way to go

Michelle
