REFLECTION

Contributed by imaginestars on Friday, 23rd December 2005 @ 11:34:11 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

i gaze into far reaches of the earth
but what appears is not what i see
for what meets the eye
rarely holds the beauty of what can be seen
an endless view of my life
is so bittersweet to my soul
i see the past of coldness
i see the future of who i am
it's so clear i can almost reach it
but i don't dare try
for my life is not my own
it belongs to a source much higher
i wonder what would be
if the past were unknown
if the future were unclear
but i never dwell on that mystery
for time wraps it up and leaves it far behind
so many things i see
when i peer into this view
many pass through leaving their trail
some leave pain as their posterity
others have painted love
but in both i find strength
pain though not welcomed
has created my integrity
it's molded me into a woman
who knows her strength, her passion
and the love has sealed it in my heart
it's opened my eyes to this view
as rivers flowing through mountains
experiences twist through my soul
all carving who i am
dictating my being
but that's what keeps me
knowing they've opened my eyes
opened my heart
memoralized my convictions
and so i gaze
into what i have been
what i am
what i will be
