perfect all the way through
like a dream come true
I wish for it day and night
hoping that I will make it
alright
I don't want it to be just
another thing to pass the time
I want it to be special just like
this rhyme
So maybe next time
when you see me smile
you will know what
my heart truly desires
Just a little kiss
would make my life
worth living
for you are the one
and only thing my heart lacks
and I want you to know that

Very honest and open, which is touching. It's nicely done, but it doesn't quite have the feel of love poetry. I think it is, in a way, too open for it, because love poetry doesn't come straight out and say something, rather it finds ways of painting the picture without actually saying it. Love poetry has become damned hard to write, because it's so hard to write something that hasn't been written before. But it is possible. I think you have a good chance of writing good love poetry, because you don't repeat all the old clichés. Keep at it!
