Tears of ice flow freely down my face...burning
my vision altered...weakened and losing focus
Hot blood coursing though my veins...ears ringing
heart screaming for all this to end...or begin again
Nightmares by day haunt every walking step...
surrounded by mists carrying sounds of madness
Spinning and twisting...words of deception
Echoes of me...echo within me
A touch...a caress...shuddering and grasping
fleeting glimpse of flesh so corrupted
Consuming all...then more than was offered
giving redemption through darkened enlightenment
The anguish of the ones who have tasted...reflected
mouths watering from hungers discovered
Following blindly...not seeing...believing
hands holding mine...bone clutching bone
Doors swing shut as I reach them...slamming
nothing to grasp... hinges frozen in place
A weight on my back...pushing and pushing
senses distorted by clouds of self pity
Closing my eyes...cant stop the barrage
pounding against me...agony rippling
Souls scream for justice and a price I cant pay
clutching my heart as blood turns to poison
And still the tears of ice flow freely...scarring
lines on my face show the depth thats so shallow
Words of deception that sprang from me...spring from me
echoes of me...echo within me

Great job. My heart goes out to you and all who understand Echoes of Me.
Remember the way to get through this, is to just make it through one more day, and then do it again. There will be some nice days in there too. |
