In passing through a desolate sea of ash, my attention caught my query last, the fleeing sphere of golden light, in warmth always out of reach but feels so right. I tracked it ever west and gave chase fast, this query is quite worth the fight, though always at my back, my preditor, the night.

This is an interesting piece, as the imagery does not come to you until the very end (or perhaps just the comprehension).
In a way it would be beneficial to base another poem on this theme, exploring why the person in the poem is afraid of the dark... or even just addicted to the light... |
