It seems like months ago since I last saw a fairy here on Dartford Heath, at least three months or more. What was going on? Were the Fairies cross with me or what is much worse are there any hidden dangers that I do not know about? It is all very disturbing my house is empty without their cheerful voices and the songs they love to sing. I thought of making enquiries to Her Majesty Queen Feeana but if there was danger I did not want to expose the Fairies by my making enquiries. I decided to give it another month before I did anything in regard to the little folk. Weeks slowly went past and I was worried that something terrible had happened to keep them away from one of their favourite playgrounds.
About four weeks later I received a letter it was from Her Majesty Queen Feeana. I recognised the royal handwriting. The fact that it came by ordinary post and was delivered by my postman a Mr. Jenkins that I have known for years, I thought it strange, usually any Fairy Post is delivered by a Robin or even a Leprechaun. I hastily slit the envelope of parchment open and took out the royal letter. I read quickly and with great concern. The Fairies have taken refuge in their winter quarters under the Himalayan Mountains. Extra precautions have been taken to safeguard all of the little folk.
One of the worlds most powerful wizards had by means of Magic called all of the Witches, Wizards and Sorcerers together to work out a plan to wipe out all of the Fairies. The means to do so the Wizard had found by mixing some of the most powerful magic ingredients together. He used ground down dragons teeth, the powder from the horn of a Unicorn. Another of his ingredients was brimstone and some other pretty vile concoctions this mixture was to be sprayed onto the winds that travel very up in the atmosphere and cover all of the earth. Her Majesty and all of the wise old fairies had been trying for months to find some cure for this evil plan. I was asked to help as I sometimes came up with some good advice.
I thought of many plans but in the end I had to give them up, as they were not practical. Then I had an idea. I sent a Robin with a message to the Fairy Queen and in a few days I was transported first to the moon then from the moon to the Winter Quarters of the Fairies. I had never seen the Fairies in such poor spirits all were going around with sad long faces. My old heart became angry that an evil man wanted to wipe out such wonderful creatures. I was taken to the Fairy Queen Feeana and she told me that up until now she had no plan or even magic that could be used against this evil Wizard.
I then told Her Majesty my plan. It was simple but very effective. We needed the help of Mother Nature. When the Wizard was ready to use his vile concoction Mother Nature was to stop all winds everywhere on earth then his magic brew could not be distributed. This would give us a chance to fight the Wizard and his allies and to stop them once and for all from making any more threats against the Fairies. Queen Feeana immediately got in touch with Mother Nature and the plan was put into practice as soon as any mixture with brimstone was to be let loose in the atmosphere Mother Nature would stop all winds and the vile mixture would sink to earth where the Wizards and Witches had let it go.
I was sent back home the same way that I had come first to the moon and then to my old house. I watched the television and read the newspaper for any signs that the wizards were ready to put their plan into action. I even listened to the radio. It was the picture on the television that got me thinking. The picture was of a Volcano that was about to erupt. I thought this is where they will get enough brimstone to use with their mixture. The name of the Volcano was Mount Talang a volcano in Indonesia it was easy for the wizards and witches to gather here to make their plan work. They were all disguised as scientists who were studying the volcano.
I sent another Robin to her majesty who sent me again by means of the moon to the winter quarters under the Himalayan Mountains. Here I asked Her Majesty to send me to Indonesia to mingle with the Wizards and Witches as a fellow scientist. In a flash I was at the base of the Volcano with a large company of Wizards and Witches all of whom were working on building a large cauldron to make the brew as soon as the brimstone came out of the Volcano. I had taken with me a magic potion that Her Majesty Queen Feeana had given to me. This potion was the only known substance that could make the Dragon teeth powder useless if I could throw this into the cauldron when the Volcano erupted then the Fairies would be saved.
Suddenly the Volcano rumbled and started spewing rocks and lava and stinking brimstone into the air. The Wizards and Witches worked at a furious pace throwing all kinds of stuff into the cauldron then the wizard that had started it all threw his magic Dragons teeth powder I acted like the rest and danced up to the huge cauldron and threw my mixture into the cauldron and danced well back to see what would happen. To my delight the potion worked and from the cauldron came a harmless steam. The Witches and Wizards were furious what had gone wrong with their wonderful plan. Suddenly I felt the movement of air and her Majesty stood beside me. She took one look at the Witches and Wizards and with a wave of her magic wand all were turned into a stream of lava.
Her Majesty transported me back to the Himalayan winter Quarters where she told the Fairies that all danger had now been banned. On Dartford Heath the Fairies have returned and my house is once again a playground for those delightful creatures that keep me happy with their singing and dancing. Mother Nature was pleased that she did not have to stop the winds that travel all around the world as these winds also help to bring the rains that are so badly needed for the animals birds and all things that grow.
