Would You Stay

Contributed by kaya-chan on Thursday, 5th January 2006 @ 06:28:35 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

they told me that you were going away for the last time
that I'd never see your face again after you turned away
they said you were gonna visit grandpa but you'd never come home
but I wanna know if there'd been something else I'd said, something else I'd done

would you stay here with me, would you stay
would it be enough if I'd loved you more
would it be enough if I said I love you
would you stay here with me, would you stay

they said you had a year to do all the things you wanted
that you had 8 months to say I love you so
they said you'd have a day to tell us all goodbye
but I wanna know if there'd been something that I could have told you to keep you here

would you stay here with me, would you stay
would it be enough if I'd loved you more
would it be enough if I said I love you
would you stay here with me, would you stay

My heart goes out to you (lump in my throat)
Cherish the time you have.
And remeber
Even when they're gone they're always right there!
God bless

Very touching write.....the repetition adds emotions to the poem...
Best of everything to your dad.

I wish you and yours well...and that the time you have to spend together brings blessed memories
