Fallen stones of morbid truth Cascading onto my rocky path Shaky pebbles of underlying grief Foolish pride swallowing me. Bruising and damaging the spirit Of one who cares for me deeply Challenging the logic of affection Shunning words of admiration Embracing thoughts of self-abolition. The harsh wind chaps my lips yet the harshness of the wind is no match for the ruthless nature that my spirit has evolved into. And I am trapped in this sullen state with my faded integrity to blame.
