Falling, Fallen, Fell

Contributed by daniella on Friday, 6th January 2006 @ 05:16:17 PM in AEST
Topic: DreamsandWishes

The stars were falling
And the mermaids were laden with light
Prayers flew from every corner of the sea
The pull of the tide brought them
I had hoped it would bring you to me

The glaciers glimmered gliding in the cold
Prayers contained in salty glass bottles
Prayers Rolled
Prayers Folded
Prayers Crumpled
Floating

The stars had fallen
And the mermaids harvested their new treasures
Wishes were made from every shore along the sea
The wind carried them swiftly across many oceans
I had hoped it would bring you to me

The wading waters whimpered and died
Wishes held in muffled echoes
Wishes Cried
Wishes Screamed
Wishes Whispered
Flying

The stars fell
And the mermaids began to weave new constellations
And reborn eyes gazed from every shadow on the sea
And the wind did die and the bottles did shatter
And I realized you would never pray or wish to be with me

Im suprised that no one has commented on this.. the imagery in this was amazing. Mythical creatures and shiny stars, and yet the feelings are sad and real. Great write.

How lovely Daniella!

What beautiful imagery...your words were woven well my friend, I could see it all happening and then, the sadness of the end....when the end was truly realized...makes one want to sigh....

Lovely write, thank you so much for sharing it!

Magical, mystical, mesmerising, marvellous.
What an enchanting read from start to end
