Spring to Life
The cold wind blows,
The sun is powerless against it
To provide warmth
Snow covers the ground,
Trapping it in cold
I am weary of winter
Grown tired of its chill
I long for spring
For this frozen world to melt away
I am also waiting for the winter of my life
To end
For my icy heart to thaw
To be free of this cold prison
I have locked myself in
I want to love
Instead of hate
To laugh
Instead of cry
May I someday feel my sad sorrow
Give way to joy
And may I learn to live
To live again

| I have lost the count on how many short stories and poems I have read about this same exact topic, but yet again with your simplicity of writing, I feel like it's the first time I read about winter and spring |
