Alone

Topic: SadPoetry

I sit alone,
Yet the loneliness no longer effects me.
The feeling is all too familiar.
This overwhelming emptiness,
No longer phases my reluctant gaze.
Its grown...
Into another sheer part of my instabilities.
Within every breath lingers my shaking doubts.
Though it has become my companion,
I dread its daily company.
As my clouded eyes search desperately
For something,
Anything worth seeing...
I only see myself,
A shattered and lost being.
Somewhere...
Beyond this constant heartbreak,
Lies an empty shadow,
Darker than I ever imagined,
Consuming my soul,
Hiding my face.
Taking me away.
Loneliness once again grasps,
Holds firmly to pull me,
With none other than itself...
Down, deeper, lower,
To the ground so far below our feet,
We knew not of its mere existence.
Deafened from the chaotic silence.
Blinded by the vast darkness.
I feel it surrounding me.
Engulfing me.
Destroying me.
Though I reach for your hand,
I find my grip too weak.
Its always been this way...
I was never strong enough to hold on.
To not let go of those i need.
Those I live for,
Those I love for.
You.
So yet again,
I sit alone...

Awesome poem! Numbness I get it too. Lonliness is so deep it seems to disappear. I get lonely even when I am with people. Saddenning really. It's sad how you couldn't seem to hold onto them physically but once they are gone you can never seem to let them go emotionally. This is so sad. I'm so sorry you feel this way, I know what it is like, I still battle it constantly, but nothing like it used to be, so damaging. Take care.
