suffocating in the arms of love
bound by cold affection
lost is the warmth of her touch
passion turns to ashes
where once there was love
fresh in youth's blush
born of excitement
expectations abound
everything moves forward
caught up in the tide
no time to be wasted
the path is uneven
smothered by vines of distrust
there's no forgiveness between them
she builds a wall around her heart
he stands alone in the rain
crying for comfort
but she offers none
she has nothing to give
in twilight he sees her
silouetted against the sun
fading into memory
where love used to be
