Beauty Begins to Resent the Hatred in the Devil's eyes

Contributed by weepingprophet on Thursday, 26th January 2006 @ 07:44:48 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

every narrow destruction rests in your eyes
disaster's plan unfurling in that sweet glint
how i should have burned through the disguise
the idle memories of which i refuse to repent

how subtle were the lingering words
of how our end would become
the violent flutter of the birds
leaving the perch barren and numb

many times i housed you
sheltered from the wind
the sanctity found true
that you would be mine again

so let you go with the sun
setting over the waste
and finish what we ignorantly have begun
with the sternest of haste

every narrow destruction
morphes into my prize
disaster's plan now spent
how long have i been disguised
beauty begins to resent
the hatred in the devil's lies

so let me go with the sun
setting over the truth
believe in rectifying what has become
the emptiness of our youth

beauty begins to resent
the hatred in the devil's lies
all the narrow promises
pathways straight to my demise
