a picture, a moment frozen in time
"Smile", they say, its all just a mime
you look happy, and you show love
you might even be dressed like a dove
but under all of the masks and frill
is the real thing that is very shrill
screaming to get out, beat it down
we cant have it coming out right now
throw on your make up and be sure to smile
freeze yet another moment in time, make sure to act like a child
grin from ear to ear
dont show any of your fear
looking back years later
you realize you where much sadder
and that is how you got here
wish they knew, just make it all a smear
rip the picture in half, tear it
its gone, now cut your wrists
then get caught, be sent away
you wish they knew, you wish you could say
you where lost in a ocean of lies, your not okay
just becasue of one smile
you ended up in denial.
