your already dead

Contributed by Jrtoews on Tuesday, 31st January 2006 @ 09:25:25 PM in AEST
Topic: war

"when you go in to war your already dead"
wether its body, soul or inside your head.
the dictionary says its a struggle between nations
carried on by arms between the 2 stations.
the fear of the soldiers going out on to the grounds
for the first time, not knowing what they have found
kids with bombs on the citys main streets
explosions and shrapnel right at there feet
in the name of god they try to kill
more and more bodies tossed to the landfill
soldiers like to do more good than bad
but how many cassualties have they already had?
we know its not at all purposly done
but for those peoples families it was too many at one
no one wins in a time like this
for people we dont know and the people we miss
at this moment on foreign soil they tread
"when you go into war your already dead"

The words are so true in this poem. Our soldiers and veterans would also love it.

Wow, this is very good!

A couple times the flow was interuppted, but all in all it went really smoothly. I can relate to the words and meaning of this selection, I am as against the Iraqi war as you are. I wish the best of you and your friend.
