Oh wretch, what manner of creature art thou, at once so sure, and then in doubt? - To sense such presence, then feel estranged: with much assurance turned to disdain.
Do not the promises of God endure, did He not make thine election sure? The love of Christ depends not on you; It's not determined by things you do.
Leave the work of salvation to him; He's the master of that realm. You've walked where every man has trod. Adamic sin seperates you from God.
By Christ's own power you shall obey, drawn to Him in a spiritual way. Flesh shall replace that heart of stone; faith and obedience ye shall own.
Times of sin there still may be, but growth in grace your friends shall see. We know presumption ( child of sinful pride ), leads many down destructions path so wide.
So, search God's word for the answer clear. Do not dispair in doubt and fear. It reveals the manner of the Christian there, that Christ hath bequeathed to the Spirit's care.
The works of true righteousness we may do, are wrought by the Spirit, through and through. Filthy rags, the works self-righteousness provide, are wrought, like Cain, out of carnel pride.

Yes, trust and obey, he has put down all wars and strife. He will put the going on down too. He is coming to end all wars. And that will be the greatest day in all creation. God does not want us to perish, He wants us to come to Him in righteousness. RaquelLeah |

Great poem Lionel.
Doubt is natural - man's means of uhnderstandihng thinhgs devine are so limited.
But must trust God and His mercy first of all.
What seems to me fatal, is the arrogance of taking things for granted.
Things taken for granted, men and friends taken for granted, thus abusing and taking advantage of goodness, generosity and love.
And Oh there are such as even preach and lecture.
Did not the Lord Himself say:" many will come and say" Lord! Lord! and will will say - I know thee not!
Hubris - (self-sufficient arrogance) I strongly believe is real stone of scandal. Not doubt or other human frailties.
Great job Lionel
(My s econd book - substantial) will be cominhg out soon.
Blessings
Thanks for sharing
Elizabeth
