Tunnel Vision
Is that a light at the end of the tunnel? Many say its just another train Is there a back way out of this chunnel A shortcut through lifes pain?
The heartache feels so palpable and real Misery surrounds us like a cloak How does one stop, just not feel How does one heal once broke?
Feels as if a knife is in this chest Yet life goes on so hectic and busy Just smile and try to do each days best Get through without a meltdown or tizzy
As each day goes by we must remember A year from now things will be better A phoenix will rise from this ember Time will release us from this fetter
To repeat daily, that light, at tunnels end Is not another train but a beacon That although broken we can mend Firmly resolve not to weaken
Step out of the tunnel one moment at a time Into the light, get off that track Up the trestle one must climb Move forward and not look back.
