I've been stuck in this foreign country Unfamiliar and strange I hide to avoid the crossfire of the political fire of rage We all gather in the arena We are there to watch the show But the men dressed in black grab the children and they'll come to get me this I know I'm led to the other side and I pass my family in distress knowing deep inside they won't be able to see my graduation dress The children are taken to the strange maze a spectacle of which we assemble around I feel so out of place as I take my seat without a sound I'm not down there with the young ones However I keep low to not be seen I'm confused why haven't I been chosen? I'm a child too can't they see? One by one they find their way out It's an amusement to the grown-ups Until one child is stopped short and the leader demands who will give it up What can I do?! I cry out Feeling helpless, I have nothing to give I cannot save you child It's time for the grown-up in me to live I've realize I'm not a child anymore and it's time to quell my fears I've graduated from that part of life Now I can finally leave here

I've never "grown up." Do not let any one person fool you, AnatasiaN. |

This one is great too. This is the kind of thing I had terrible dreams about when I graduated high school. It's not that I was afraid to leave in fact I was desparate to. I was really afraid there was no place in this world for me because I felt like I was neither an adult or a kid. Don't think that graduations or 21st birthdays say you're an adult. But this poem ends with a new beginning and that is the best. And don't think I'm ragging on your poem it is truly awesome.
