I Remeber

I Remeber

I remeber...

My older brother, a boy of ten years

Pinned to the pantry door

by the hand of my father

I hid upstairs with my sister, crying

paranoid thoughts plauging me

Mom diden't belive us, either that,

or she diden't care

I remeber...

I wanted to wacth Garfeild, he diden't

He went to the kicthen for a knife

Grandma leaves, or wasen't there in the first place, I don't recall

Sister tackles brother to the ground

I remeber,

Another day, another fight

This one got bad

She empties the contents of the pills bottles into her palm

I threatend to call 911

She put them back

I remeber...

A diffrent fight this time, I was little

Mom goes into the post office, leaveing us alone

Sister's nails are sharp,

I still have scars

I remeber...

Crying, alone at night

No one comes to comfort

The crying child

I remeber..

Yet another fight

late at night

"Tell him to turn that down!"

"Its not loud!"

It escalates

It got psyical

Sister and Dad are fighting,

someone got a bad bruise

I forget who

I remeber...

I don't know what this one was about

All I remeber is Sister threating to kill Dad

He said "Come and try!" Lifts his arms above his head

I get in her face,

distracting her

trying to stop her from getting a knife

Dad yells at me for getting involved

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
