Dark Hazel

Dark Hazel
(cold steel)

very small nose
eyes of a soft hazel chestnut

Swirl to blind me
soft flurries and eddies
to draw my body in your warmth

If I could, just one time, see myself through your eyes
Id change forever then like
you are me.

Overwhelming tsunamis of purple and royal blue

or one small green light on a fake-wood wall

None of this is everything and all of this is nothing
and you are the opposite of that.

Rubbing eyes and curling toes
Colours and tresses of an amphibious origin.

My teeth gleam and glint
white in pale yellow and blue
sunlight and the soft feeling of grass between my toes;

my first few steps as a small child
or flourishing mind like exotic flowers in crisp spring rain

Im tired and Ive got fog.
Try as I might I cannot match you;

You are beautiful.

lost in hot bottles
and peanut butter jars
Curious wondering the slits and slants
in this pale metal lampshade.

Books and corduroy bears
dusty in the attic with a worn through nose.
Shards of green glass
glint on the ground on pebbly concrete in soft flowing rain.

Alarm clock flashes red and white
is flowing down in my drifting mind.
Gold and slender fingers,
Black and chilled surf exploding on western rocks.

Climbing simple walls to simple fabric.
Simple textures under fingertips,
smooth complications of you and your creamy skin.

Nothing ever again
but dark hazel and cold steel blue.

A myriad of dreams and dancing,
Roofs of mouths itching and this is all.

A self-affirmed prophecy,
soft movements and steps on a creamy marble floor

Nothing ever again
but dark hazel and cold steel blue.
