it pains me so much
to see the feelings you have
i feel like its my fault
i was swept away in the tide
there are days
that i miss what we had
but then i remember
the bad days
and all i can do is cry
i know im doing what
is right for me
no matter how bad it hurts
im sorry i failed you
im sorry you're hurt
i want to hold you
and tell you everything
will be okay
but im not able to anymore
its not my place
to soothe you
with my loving words
just know i will
never forget you
or what we had
im sorry
that time has past
we can never go back

sometimes it hurts more to be the rejector than the rejectee. I always wonder if I've done the right thing.
