Shadows & Butterflies

Contributed by crim on Sunday, 19th February 2006 @ 10:37:41 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

reflections of the past
ripple across the lakes,
where my memories drowned
and now i have to make them fake
i was hoping id save myself, just for the sake,
of knowing who i was, and the monster that id awake
little girl from the black and white, do these pictures lie,
or is my mirror right
id crawl in the dark, and try and find myself at night...
the blood wont color the pictures seeing red wont give me sight...
bleaching the forgotten stains, and the scars that appear in places other than my skin
tell me, do you think living's a sin?
i dont want to end this, but i dont know where to begin.
lost in yesterdays tommrow,
and all i seem to follow
are the shadows and butterflies that lead me to my dreams,
that turn out to be nightmares and nothing is what it seems
so little girl from the black and white,
are these mirror images wrong,or have i always been right?

tell me, do you think living's a sin?

This line is very powerful in its execution. I really enjoyed its depth.

Please consider some of my poetry too, if you have time. Thank you.
