A MOTHERS LOVE

Contributed by Scouse on Tuesday, 28th January 2003 @ 09:50:00 PM in AEST
Topic: dedicatedpoems

A Mothers love is lasting and true
She gladdens when your down
She helps you through the times your blue
And never wears a frown

She cares and nurses from the day you are born
She teaches right from wrong
Your clothes she makes your hats adorn
And always with a song

As you grow from time to time
Still needing Mothers love
You draw strength from one so fine
She'll be there with a gentle shove

Your married now out on your own
But still once now and then
You take things home you've had on loan
You maybe stay till ten

Through all her years she helps never sad
Never telling when shes blue
The only thing she can ever do bad
Is to die, and thus, leave you.

I can't understand why there is only one comment on this poem, it is so beautiful and touching. A mother's love is the best remedy for everything, a broken heart or a broken leg, believe me I know. No one and nothing can ever replace the love that a mother gives. It makes you realize how lucky you are htough when you read a poem such as this...so many children out there don't have the chance to know their parents and it is so sad. They never have the chance to feel a mothers loving touch. Anyway I'll stop rambling now lol. A beautiful write, I loved it.

Fantastic
Truly beautiful
Brought the tears flowing from my eyes for my mum has died.

Love your mothers whilst they are on this earth and tell them often just how much you care and love them.

Like your poem expresses

Love this poem, it is so very true. My mother passed away recently and she was the one that without a doubt no matter what I knew she loved me. Faults and all.

I think this is a very sweet poem. I'm a little confused one the end. It kinda like jumps at you like when your mother dies she has left you like its bad. Being a mother I think it was very sweet and also losing my mother it really captured a lot of who she was. Nicely done.

That's really sweet, even though I can't say my mother's anything like that at all. I still love her, though (just don't tell her). ^_^ Tough love sucks...but I can see all this in her, too. It makes me see that in reality, I'm pretty lucky to have her as a mom... This was just a really lovely poem - congrats on it. :-)
