Keep Your Hands to Myself

Contributed by Lancaster on Thursday, 23rd February 2006 @ 01:33:50 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Take a piece of me
Leave the rest behind
In bad times and worse
I will need my heart to stay afloat

Consider this my final resignation
And pardon the abrupt hesitation
I was once cowardly
Now before I erupt
I must yield to my convictions

Dont be deceived
I have yet to loose all faith
I am, however, sent to retrieve
What humanity has misplaced
What history seeks to erase
Peoples, Kings, strive to displace

The brave soldier beckons
A hero to reckon
With the struggles
The true forces of oppression
Act firm, steadfast, make no such concessions!

And as they beat me
Tortured for my scripted confession
Burnt my skin
To a freighting red complexion

I must trust in innocence
As it runs rampant in the streets below
I must pray for my masked hero
Who emerges cowardly from lost shadows
