Dragons Within the Heart

Topic: DarkPoetry

So my friend did you find success and build a mountain of cash?
Did you burn the bridges that you crossed and leave a pile of ash?
Did you destroy those who crossed your path for your own self gain?
Did you kick them while they were down, for your own self gain?

When the church bells tolled did you balk at those marching in to pray?
Then hand your soul to satan himself for one more profitable day?
Hear these words I speak to you for I'm the dragon within your heart.
I command mankind I rule the soul from the very start.

I sent Jesus to the cross and watched while the son of God died.
I marched the jews off to mass graves while the world looked away and sighed.
I give the most deceptive the power to rule each and every land.
The most brilliant the power of destruction at fingertip command.

I can corrupt a churches highest ranks by seizing
the holiest minds.
I can starve a nation within a world where foods plentiful to find.
I am but thoughts within the mind but my power holds no remorse.
To mankind I represent the short self destructive course.
.
