You smiled at me again today, The smile that caused me so much trouble, The smile that I thought made me love you, You were with a man; A boyfriend, a work collegue or a brother, Who can say? I pause a moment, a second to wonder.
My feelings have mellowed A fire grown cold, Plenty of others have come and gone, Years have passed, Yes, I know, The shyest smile upon lips of stone.
