The report is in and the wind storm is coming I'm left on my own -- yes, I may be one bumming We are all told to have our flashlights ready and at hand In case when electricity ceases, I should have planned Yet I have to work tonight in a town that is nearby Coming home in the dark is what the report does imply The trees may fall at my left hand or right Whatever may be, God's plan is my plight My family has dispersed to elsewhere places They won't be back until after the storm rages This will be an interesting night and what should I fear An adventure is coming; a memory to hold dear Yes, I will be brave--I will continue to say When all is over, I will remember this day That's why I'm writing this all down as I think Then I will share with you the details in sync Yet I know some storms come and skip over this town That's okay, I won't let any worry abound Either which way all my trust is in the Lord I know He cares and under His wings I board.

Yes, it was scary alright. I live up high on a hill.. I prayed hard for those lost at sea, in Tillamook, Oregon.. the winds howled.. I was standing at my door, and a gust hit me and threw me down to the floor.. right then, I understood Katrina and Rita.. instantly.. the only other time I have been thrown down by the wind was when I was age 11. You are closer to the ocean than I am. I prayed deeply for you and all. Thank you for writing this poem.. and we are blessed that the storm passed us by. I know its the lightening that could get me, although the resounding thunder is hard on my ears and my soul lol.
huggies,
Your friend, and reader..
