Blood Stained Water
Innocent play, time of dusk Splash, splash as the children play, unaware of surroundings Screams and yelps of joy fill the air A shadow glides toward An accelerating heart beat Alerts your senses Fear is felt Then a sensation absorbs your body, A drive for the shore Muscles go numb Helplessness traps you Deafening silence is all that you hear Lifeless eyes look at you with no sympathy The water becomes deathly crimson No more heartbeat is heard as Evolutions greatest creation swims away unscathed Only with its fin protruding from the blood stained water
