Ha Zy, Cra-Zy, Daze,
Gras-Ping, Fet-Tered, Fog,
keep ing cor-rect
time with
wip ing wash ers
on the
wind shield;
Mem ries meet ing
time with
a magical metronome of years.
Rainy, lazy days
once when two and ten
led to slippery slides down shallow slopes,
or raucous racing rides downstream the bayou
usually long, leisurely, lulling in its journey.
Ha Zy, Rai Ny, Daze,
now at four and forty
clap ping time with
cres cents on win dows
marks yet another day
laboring and living in a cube;
contemplating washing the windows,
that reveal no difrent view
of the ashe grey asphalt
connecting the dreary two.
Hints of life hiding in the conch
displayed just out of reach,
membrance of youthful launch;
tipping curls of the salty sea
seem shores from life now ensconced.
Gap ing thru pass-en-ger
win dows, past the drops
melting in a myriad of movements;
months melding years of malcontent;
Tick ing, Tock ing
into pol i ti cal
corr ect ness.
