Torn Remnants of Moonlight

Contributed by NoSaint on Saturday, 25th February 2006 @ 09:07:18 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

Torn remnants of moonlight shine through her eyes
Lost in the memories of another time
When she was happy and danced under the stars
Her face shows no emotion for empty is she

Lost to her a friendship dear to the heart
Moments mean nothing life is a loss
She could not take things as they were offered
Wanted to know all that was felt

Now left to wander the forest of her mind
Over knurled stumps of remembrances
Hers is a lonely existence
One for which she is totally to blame

But insecurities play hard on her soul
And she suffers from a quest for the truth
Reassurances that all is well and time wont take away
What lies close to her heart

Torn remnants of moonlight shine through her eyes
Lost memories of another time another place
Where everything dear is but a fleeting moment in time
And eventually just flies away with the wind

love it. keep it up! i really like the first line of the last stanza. i also really like how it almost seems like one of those unhappy-ending stories. not everything is happily ever after. i really liked the whole thing.

The quest for truth is no easy undertaking. Sometimes we lose ourselves trying to know everything and ends with us have nothing.

Shari, I read this last night....it left me so saddened. I couldn't find the words to comment. I reread it today. It is so heavy, just laden with remorse it would seem..Wonderful, soulful write. Peace, Laura

Your poems definately help us not to understand others, but to understand ourselves.. we are done when we stop having dreams, loving . You are sure a great writer for thinkers.. so much philosophy of truth in your writes, I guess I will have to give you the nickname of Professor Shari.

Lovely write.. sometimes sad poems help others because they tend to bring us to a place where we can all relate ... to being in that spot at least once in our lifetime.. so sad though to see people under 30 go through such sadness these days.. these pains are not imaginary any more..there is real suffering going on..

Excellent title.. poem.. I already voted earlier.. *******
