The Envelope

Contributed by Midnight on Sunday, 26th February 2006 @ 01:02:05 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

A large white envelope,
Sealed and secure.
Containing my life's secrets no longer known,
Lays somewhere undiscovered,
Desiring to be found.
Collecting dust
Untouched and unread.
That large white envelope
Filled with mystery.

That large white envelope,
filled with hidden feelings.
The misery, the fear, the grief,
The pain and confusion,
All locked away.
But with all this
Is a little more,
In that large white envelope
Filled with the past.

That large white envelope,
Longing to be opened.
Which inside lay,
The memories
Behind the weakened past,
The good times that disappeared,
Are locked away as well
For the fear
Of the bad times
Coming-to again
The fear of emptiness
And depression

Under my skin once more
That large white envelope with its insecurity

That large white envelope that means no harm
Contains no nightmares I do not
Have already
Not it,
But I,
Have brought this grief
Upon myself.
It means nothing but to help me,
But to bring me good.
Those memories never to be forgotten
Ever again.
This large white envelope
In my hand,
Now independent from its agony,
And free
From its fears.

~Midnight

wow, i really loved that poem. the whole envelope concept is really great, totally original i'm pretty sure, and really gets the point across, considering there are so many people that feel the same way too.

great write.
