I lost myself Going house to house, Lost my mind, Running blind. Homeless, hopeless, Depression was my mistress, My lover, She was my father and brother, Sister and mother. But I found myself Over coffee in a Waffle House. Walking home from work at Ryan's, Discovered I'd been lyin', With the help of a striped, stuffed toy cat. Feeling like a low-down rat, I scurried home, But realized I was alone, No one with whom I could share a burden, And that's why I was still hurtin'. Sometimes I wish God would take me away, Give me a better place to stay, Forever with my best friend, named [-].
i refuse to divulge the name of the friend....however the few people who know me from school or work on this site know who i am speaking of....

ya, the whole refusing to give away the name makes a lot of sense, and the poem was really good. it seems as though many people could relate, and that's why we'll all like it so much.
