I've Made No Mistake

Contributed by weepingprophet on Tuesday, 28th February 2006 @ 06:18:51 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Do you really love me?
You solemnly claim to
Should I trust you?
I have nothing else to do

I am a skeptic
When it comes to love
You are perfect
An honest gift from above

When I look in the mirror
Baby you have nothing to compare
To the sheer terror
Of the monster that I see there

I recall everything bad
That I have ever done
I remember, regretfully
The times I held that gun

I know you cannot comprehend
This abhor against myself
I own lament that I cannot mend
A past I can't put on a shelf

Life is empty like this
There's nothing I can say
Dwelling on truth's last kiss
I know for sure I love you today

I cannot promise forever
Broken promises I don't make
Yet I know what's in my heart
And I've made no mistake
