Lonely the prince, lost without hope
Timeless the tale of his sorrow
Many women sighed, would fall at his feet
If he would propose tomorrow
But he wanted no ordinary girl
Was waiting for one beyond compare
One that had jewels for eyes
And the stars radiance in her hair
He was such he would not settle
For even Princesses and Queens
Were not beautiful or stately enough
To by his side be seen
He wanted a most magnificent wife
One that no other had ever known
What he did not realize
Is the seed his vanity had sown
A sorceror decided to teach
This poor prince a lesson strong
He took a lizard from near the pond
And decided before long
This prince would see how foolish
His waiting and wanting could be
The sorcerer took unicorn horn
And shell from abalone
Sprinkled stardust and gold
Then added ruby for the lips
And sapphires to enhance her eyes
Then stirred with wind to sway her hips
When he was through
She was a beauty most extraordinaire
Blue eyes and red, red lips
Golden star dusted hair
He dressed her in silks and satin
Jewels adorned her locks
The prince fell at her feet
He really was in shock
Never had such beauty
Roamed this planet thus far
The sorcerer laughed to himself
Most of her came from a jar
The prince struck speechless
Married her that very day
He stood so very proud
Did not want her to get away
He took her on a honeymoon
To a lovely castle by the lake
He swept her off her feet
And laid her on the bed
Deciding a kiss to take
But the moment his lips met hers
A lizard she became once more
Locked forever in this sight
The prince ran out the door
They say you can still hear him
Roaming the sandy shores
Screaming to eternity
His loneliness now forever more

| A wonderfully ambitious tale. It flows through my mind I read it a second time. No flaws were seen wonderful its been to read a tale that's yours. |

Ok mmmm back to the poem. This was awesome!!!! A wonderful write my friend. It flowed and took me into the story.

WOW! A twist on the frog prince story. This one, however more a moral about vanity. Absolutely well written. Something that should be in a book. A fable that ends perfect. A very well done write here. I am encouraged with you, in each work more and more. Very enjoyable!
