Sundown Reminiscing on the days events Weeks events Years events This life hasnt been so bad Take off my boots and bend my toes
Sitting
Rocking
Thinking
Stretch out my legs and take another sip
At ease
Eyeing the crowded horizon Minutes turn to hours The cool nights breeze hits my face
Feeling alright
Take one more pull off this cigarette Breathe deep
Sundown
I arise In order to retire for the night Leaving the porch Entering the house The evenings last drag seems to soothe my soul Walking past a mirror I turn Smile Knowing my strengths My weaknesses Understanding myself
Ascending the stairs I peer down at my hands Visibly strong But its only an illusion Theyre not strong enough For they allowed her to slip right through my grasp A few memories stir No true emotions felt
Too tired
Too much time spent already Retiring to my bed Thoughts of tomorrow Another days work Working hard for you
And yet
I still dont know who you are
Sunrise
