Alone at the End

I am all alone in this world. Though crowds do often pass me by. My life seems to have come unfurled, In a shambled mess I now lie.
With no one to pick up the scraps, I lay broken and destitute. With my last breath my lungs collapse, And my weak cries for help fall mute.
Now pondering my life thus far, I realize it was a waste. All that's left is an ugly scar, My deep shame, and a bitter taste.
At last it has come to an end. No more loneliness, no more pain. Comforting death, my only friend, I rest my head, for life was vain.
