I Ran To You

Contributed by EVERxSOxSWEET on Wednesday, 8th March 2006 @ 11:20:14 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Rain splatters onto the wet cement
it brings out the dirty scent of this city
the moonlight creates a dull glow
it illuminates all the places I have grown to love
the silhouettes of the tall bright towers create an alluring background
one i've seen day after day but never gets old
I feel the big wet droplets slide down my neck and down my back
as my feet carry me to whichever destination they choose tonight
the chaos all around me has became like home
as I walk, memories flash through my head like a slideshow
reminding me of all the innocence i've lost and knowledge i've gained
the sights this city has shown me makes me question life outside it's limits
everything I need resides within these streets
inside a hollow apartment or within the depths of a strangers pleading eyes
everything I know about life, i've learned here.
I ran to you to find tranquility
I ran to you to find myself, but what I found was a whole other world.
