The Inner Battle

Contributed by thesinner on Friday, 10th March 2006 @ 04:56:17 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Crawling on the precipice of my mind.
I am scarred and bloodied from my inner battles.
The dust that covers me,
is all that remains of hope.
I lay naked, exposed to my own self destruction,
as I gaze down at the shattered remanents of my soul.
I taste the bitterness of my own disappointment.
I have dragged myself through this desert of life,
and it lays before me as empty and barren as my heart.
And as I struggle onwards,
I feel the hands of despair pulling me down.
I cry out in frustration,
reaching for one moment of happiness,
and I feel it drifting out of reach,
And I am falling,
falling into the emptiness,
falling into the nothingness,
And I plummet into the darkness,
that is my mind.

The point is to not let your mind control your actions. The heart is stronger than you think. Allow your heart to guide you, for logic is the realm of the brain. As I have said before, when has logic iniated the great journey.
Keep your eyes open and watch for the footprints in the desert, for they are your own. Seeing this, you can step away from the folly of following your own past footprints into despair.
We are nasty creatures of habit.

What those two said.

But I love the sheer intensity of everything you're describing since I've been through everything you've said.

Indeed I know the sound of this.

One of my favorite books, Warrior of the Light, by Paulo Coelho, says that a Warrior chooses his battles wisely, and I concur. There are many battles within oneself that are beyond our strength to win, and long drawn-out fighting only leads to more agony, in my experience. Maybe we must turn away from them when the time is not right to fight them, expending our strength in battles we can win. Focusing on the Light, I have the hope that some battles will be won for us through a renewing of the mind that is not ours to invoke.

Ah, I'm rambling. But I've thought a good deal on this lately, and am wondering on such things.

Keep up the fight.

Andrew

WOW!

that is pretty deep. i have wriiten stuff like that myself about my own life.
just started to get back into the flow of writing more.

very vivid, and i can feel your pain as if it is mine.
love it, though, really.

we should keep in touch, if u want.
a good shoulder to lean on is hard to find, and it is hard to find people who understand.

take care.
